もじかわ・スハマ shy “suhama”
家紋などに見られる「洲浜」を自分なりに再構築したもの。
蔦と棕櫚の要素も加えている。
もじもじしているのか、自分の手を見つめているのか、ただぼーっとしているのか…。
愛らしく不思議な造形が特徴。
「もじかわ」とは「もじもじ」と同じような意味で、
「かわ」は落ち着きがないという意味の接尾語だが、この作品では可愛いという意味も含ませた。
This is my own reconstruction of the "Suhama" found in family crests.
I have also added elements of ivy and hemp palm.
Is it squirming, staring at its own hands, or just standing still?
The lovely and mysterious shape is a characteristic feature of this work.
卯年・年賀状 New Year's Card of Rabbit
2023が全ての人にとって素晴らしい一年になるように、愛を込めて。
…愛を込めすぎて頭上にも出てきたうさぎ。
With love and best wishes for 2023 to be a great year for all.
...A rabbit that has been over my head with too much love.

自分の名前の由来になったらしい樹木。
珍しいリボン状の花弁を活かすために、デザインを試行錯誤した。
この作品に向き合う中で、自分が描きたい絵のための技法を思いついた。
三ツ花模様 Flower pattern with three petals
三つの花弁が“物足りなさ”を、
それを並べて模様とすることで“完全”を表している。
この世の全てが完全ではなく、足りない部分を補い合い、存在していると私は思っている。
不完全であることで、完全を構成していることを表現した。
着色のムラは、室町・桃山時代辺りの染めの着物から着想。
とにかくすごい赤にしようと思い、色を調整した結果、
なかなかすごい赤色になった。
配色を変えれば、かなり雰囲気が変わりそう。
茶柱格子 auspicious sign(a tea stalk floating erect in one's cup)-check
お茶の水面にこれでもかと茶柱を立てて並べ、格子模様に見立てた。
茶柱が立つと縁起が良いと言われているので、新しい吉兆紋様としていかがだろう。
しかしながら、今どき茶柱や茶葉が茶碗に入っていること自体がなくなった。
茶漉しの性能も上がっているし、ティーバッグだってある。
（そもそも日本茶を飲む人自体が減っている気がする。）
時代に取り残された“縁起”というものは、どんな気持ちなのだろうか。
縁起物だったことがないので、その胸中を知る由もないが。

(In the first place, I think the number of Japanese tea drinkers is decreasing.)
What does it feel like to be left behind in the age of "good luck"?
I have never had a lucky charm, so I have no way of knowing what it feels like.
